Kyubi’s Ginger Snaps

Ginger Snaps

This serves 3 dozens.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (125 ml)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (125 ml)
  • 2 tbsp honey ( 30 ml)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour (375 ml)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda (2 ml)
  • 1 tsp ground clove (5 ml)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (5 ml)
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • Procedures:


    • In a large bowl, cream butter with sugar. Add honey and egg; Beat well. Sift together dry ingredients and add to butter.
    • Knead dough until it holds together. Shape into a roll, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper and chill overnight in refrigerator.
    • Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit (180 degress celcius). Grease a cookie sheet.
    • Cut doughinto slices, about 1/4 inch (5 mm) thick. With a knife, make small slits om the surface. Arrange slices on cookies sheets, about 2 inches (5 cm) apart. Bake 8 - 10 minutes until cookies are light golden. Let cool before removing from cookie sheets.
